I get lots of stuff for our dogs - my office is jammed with items to review, but that doesn't translate to cash. I'm now getting advertising inquiries from companies and have a social media/advertising kit that I update with new stats monthy. What helped me the most was working with a marketing coach. I found one that works with pet businesses and she was tremendously helpful.

What about African, Caribbean, Latin and Afro-European literature? Our experiences will be always be limited if we take on the attitude of, nothing exists beyond our shores. Africans all over the world have so much to learn from and teach to, one another. First we'll have to acknowledge that we all fall under the category of Africans and we have to accept our family on the continent and the rest of the world and they'll have to accept us. There is an amazing amount of art being created all the time by US but if WE don't recognize it then we're losing our legacy. We all have to make more effort to develop ways to exchange and promote African arts among our fellow Africans and the rest of the world if we want to see our artists gain the recognition that they deserve.  less

    Let's try this again!

    Greetings from Marysville, Washington.

I've been blogging since 2009 and today I write three blogs...

Keep the Tail Wagging | http://www.keepthetailwagging.com

    Adventures in Blogging | http://www.adventuresinblogging.net

Through the Lens of Kimberly Gauthier | http://www.kimberlygauthier.com

I'm also a featured blogger on Dog Culture dot net and Girl Power Hour as The Fur Mom (http://girlpowerhour.com/category/guest-bloggers/the-fur-mom/)

I use my blogs to connect with people, build my Life's Abundance premium pet food business, and to have fun.  I love photography, our dogs, and blogging.  I didn't start this to be a professional, but that's the path that I found myself on and I appreciate the challenges.

What I find most interesting about social networking is that people aren't always welcoming at first, but when you get you gain a presence, people start to listen.  I'm going to use my growing presence to promote dog rescue and responsible breeding.

On a personal note.  I'm an accountant by day and take the train from Seattle to Marysville each evening.  We live in 5 acres next door to cows, horses, goats, ducks, chickens, and dogs dogs dogs.  I grew up in NE Portland and never thought I would give up living near a big city, but I love the space, the quite, and when I look up all I see is stars (when it's not raining).

I'm excited to connect here, because I have one black friend.  Really!  I'm starting to get more and more black friends online, which I appreciate, because there's nothing like connecting with people who get me on a level that some of my friends and part of my family (white) cannot.  I look forward to meeting with you, sharing with you, and growing because of you.

I was recently interviewed and received a lot of great feedback from members of this site and from social networking in general: http://www.adventuresinblogging.net/2012/04/02/sharing-easy-blogging-tips-an-interview-with-black-bloggers-connect/
