I think that for the most part, Black women are not recognized enough during Black History Month. Everyone knows who MLK is but many do not know about Ella Baker who is really the main driving force behind promoting youth involvement in the Civil Rights Movement. If it wasn't for Ella Baker, SNCC would not have been as powerful and MLK would not have had the resources he needed to spread the messages of the movement. My favorite quote my Ella Baker is, "Strong people don't need strong leaders." - Great topic BBC! Can't wait to see what others come up with.
