They then market and sell the same drugs in Africa and other places with few or no regulations.

Many of the statements you make sound like personal opinions with few facts. Basically schools are what the parents and the community allow. Parents and communities that are not involved with the child's school and teachers give others license to exploit and traumatic their children. Catholic schools have systematically sexually abused children for decades and gotten away with it. Teaching middle school was rough. The key is parents involved , teachers who are well trained , care about the children and who are accountable to the community . Check out my blog at www.bmtt.org for more  less

That being your state of mind choosing to be a dope"boy" instead of a grown man means you get the results of that choice. Jail, petty crime, and violence are the results. Family, community, children, honor, integrity do not count. So you dress like a clown with your pants down for any pervert to view your junk, let everyone call you nigger and dog,and talk like a fool. Then you get offended when people threat you like a fool and a clown. This is the state many Afro American haters want to see you in,it justifies their image of you. So at 18 you are a convicted felon for the rest of your life. Your choice right?  less

What about African, Caribbean, Latin and Afro-European literature? Our experiences will be always be limited if we take on the attitude of, nothing exists beyond our shores. Africans all over the world have so much to learn from and teach to, one another. First we'll have to acknowledge that we all fall under the category of Africans and we have to accept our family on the continent and the rest of the world and they'll have to accept us. There is an amazing amount of art being created all the time by US but if WE don't recognize it then we're losing our legacy. We all have to make more effort to develop ways to exchange and promote African arts among our fellow Africans and the rest of the world if we want to see our artists gain the recognition that they deserve.  less
