It's good to know there are some that have a healthy mindset about money. Wealth and money is not a bad thing, just how we use it. Recently on FACEBOOK and alot of people have fallen into the hype of Thursday shopping. They could forego all that and put some money in savings. We don't have to follow what the marketers and stores want us to do. We are making them RICH and we are getting more and more in debt.

But had I realized, I could have started earlier. Some people's financial situation does not allow for all the gifts and they stress. Our money issues are really screwed up because of following blindly after retailers.

Who rules your household? Michigan Ave (Chicago)/Madison Ave (New York) or YOU. You can celebrate everyone in your household without going on spending binges every holiday. If it sounds like I am knocking holidays, I AM. They are too commercialized. Keep it simple and give your family love, not things! And I know you are buying in between holidays too so give yourself a break!

The word originated in Germany where Hitler banished the Jews to slummy areas called the "Jewish ghettos" while they stripped the Jews of their homes, businesses and possessions before transferring them to the concentration camps. So "ghetto" doesn't mean black. At least it didn't originate that way. Btw, I educate people about personal finances.
