  Troy Davis was convicted of killing a police officer in 1991. However, he has always proclaimed his innocence. There is few if any evidence connecting Davis to the crime. Furthermore, seven of the nine witnesses have recanted their testimonies and submitted sworn affidavits stating that they were pressured by police to blame Davis for the murder. Additionally, evidence is emerging suggesting that someone else possibly committed the crime. There is too much reasonable doubt in this case for Troy Davis to face execution. However, the state of Georgia has insisted on this death sentence despite the overwhelming reasonable doubt.

  ITS A VERY SAD SITUATION THAT IN AMERICA WE AS HUMANS PARTICULARLY, BLACK MALES HAE TO FACE UNJUST VICTIMIZATION BY A LEGAL JUSTICE SYSTEM CALLED THE LAW. IAM DEFINITELY IN SUPPORT OF TROY DAVIS AND ENCOURAGE OTHERS. I HAVE EXPERIENCED VICTIMIZATION BEFORE BY THIS LAW OF OUR LAND TOO , SO I SYMPATHIZE WITH ALL THAT GOES THROUGH THOSE SITUATIONS. IN A LAND BASED ON CHRISTIANITY , OUR SYSTEM IS FILLED WITH UNFAIRNESS AND BLAME(WHICH TURNS TO HATE).

  This is a crazy situation. Almost all of the so called witnesses they had against him recanted their statements. The state of Georgia doesn't even seem to care that they could be killing an innocent man. It is utterly ridiculous. This is why we have to be vocal out this "justice" system.

  This so crazy! Is there something we can do as a community to stop this??? We are americans! If a mother of a 2 or 3 year old can get off and there was reason to believe that she did it, how can this man have witnesses saying that they were pressured in blaming him?! If the truth really hit the fan that means the Department of Justice will have to answer a lot of questions and the state will be under so much scrutiny. This is truly a shame about our system and our so-called land of the free.

  The history of America the Beautiful has been an ugly crime scene for black people since its beginning ! Mr. Davis case represents what happens every day in American court rooms , and the obvious intention of The U.S. Justice Department ! But a new day is coming !

  I also feel deeply saddened by this case. I am not a supporter of the death penalty and feel it should be stricken from the books. We are the only western civilization with the death penalty still on the books and I think it ought to be removed. We are in company with Iraq, Iran and other countries that have a history of violating human rights. This and I feel that to dispense the ultimate punishment, that should be reserved to God only, not to man. That and I don't feel that a jury of black people should have handed down such harsh punishment to a fellow black man. They should have looked at the punishment that was being proposed and done whatever it took to ensure that their brother didn't receive that punishment. It's the reason I could never be on a jury, I'd always consider one innocent and like Chapelle, the amount of "proof" I'd need would be similar to the Robert Kelly skit, "I'd need his grandmother there saying it was him, 2 pieces of id, a sworn testimony from his parents..."

  I'm currently not a supporter of the death penalty because no effort is made to ensure the incarcerated party is indeed guilty especially minorities. One of the claims is that DNA testing is out of the question because of the expense. So basically mans life is not worth the effort. Too many, such as the Memphis 3, suffer injustice, because prosecutors will not bend to reason. Instead stick to the claim of guilty until the grave. It's a sad day when an internal pissing contest out weighs right, wrong, life and death.

  Tell me how does a off duty officer justify killing a 14 year old who stole his bike, officer said kid shot at him. No evidence of shot fired,no gun found,same officer with two other off duty shooting prior. DA said no problem no charges,city pays This is a Wash.DC shooting just settled.Cop still on the force.
