Read 2 Timothy 4:1-5. Let's be honest--it is hard to be a Christian these days. It is difficult to stand on good morals and say out loud about our beliefs and disagree with the world's thinking. It gets lonely sometimes when the people who surround us are on one page, but we stand on the pages of the Bible. Verse 2 teaches us to "preach the Word". To speak about the truth whether people want to hear it or not. To speak up about Jesus Christ even though it may not be "fashionable". I remember a Sunday school teacher once said in his class-"You may be the only Bible that someone will read". It may not always be convenient or "feel" comfortable to tell others about Jesus, but we must take the opportunities that God gives us to testify about His goodness and truths. The advice that Paul gave this young pastor is for us too--"preach the Word"!
