Paul wrote these two letters to teach Christians in the Thessalonian church about pleasing God, working hard until Jesus' return and strengthen their faith and give encouragement. The thread of themes throughout these books are persecution, hope, preparation, Christ's return and persistence. We should learn and gain more understanding, as we go into these scriptures, that while waiting for Jesus to return, we are to stay diligent in the mission of spreading His Word, encourage each other and give constant praise!
